More about the artworks Market and Vendor

“Boys know how to make a living at a young age. They vend seasonal or year-round fruits, sea-shells strung together to make a necklace or a bracelet, weeds of wild plants, and so on.

In the evening they sell the mouth-watering balut which the Philippines is known for worldwide for at least two reasons: 1) it is a leveler in the Philippines society because everybody eats it, from president down to the peasants; And 2) it is reputed to be a complete aphrodisiac food. This explains why the balut eggs in a basket are the foci.”
