Rizal's travel in Germany
Magkaisa Mabini Art Collection draws on its rich German-Filipino heritage of resilience, strength and dependability and is honored to provide insides of the relation between Germany and the Philippines during the time of the National Hero of the Philippines, Dr. José Rizal.
José Rizal travelled to Germany coming from Paris. He arrived in Heidelberg on February 3rd, 1886. Afterwards he stayed in Wilhelmsfeld with Pastor Ullmer and adjusted parts of the “Noli me tangere” and later travelled to Berlin where the “Noli me tangere” was printed. It was stated in different sources that he finished the last fourth of the novel in Germany. He wrote the last few chapters and adjusted the novel in Wilhelmsfeld in April to June 1886.
The owner of the art collection has been in the heart of the German-Filipino cultural and art scene for a quarter of century. He is Rizalist, Culture and Art Enthusiast, Publisher´s, Collector and Consultant, promoting Mabini Art and Contemporary Artists regardless if studied or self-taught.
