The Artist from General Santos City
Emmanuel “Nim” was born in Polomolok near General Santos City in South Cotabato on June 2, 1981. He developed an interest in art and a taste for figures and landscapes already at a young age.
After graduating from High School he moved to Manila and started working. Due to the inspirations and guides from the works of the old masters like Juan Luna, Amorsolo, Caravaggio, Velasquez and Constable he started his career as self-taught Mabini Artist, later moved to General Trias and than to Bacoor in Cavite to work as a full time visual artist. Meanwhile Emmanuel resides in the artwillage Alitaptap in Amadeo, Cavite
Emmanuel is one of the “self-taught” artists gaining recognition in the art scene in the Philippines. Emmanuel participated in many exhibitions in the Philippines and is as well respected in portraits in different mediums, but mainly works with oil on canvas.
