Collector's Choice

Sunday is Collector's Choice Day. This artwork is a Masterpiece done by one of the Artists as part of the collection and chosen as collectors choice. As every week, we present mostly on sundays online a special piece of Art, chosen by one private collector of Art of the Philippines.

Contemporary Luke Estrana

Masaganang Yaman, Acrylic, 122 cm x 152 cm, 2021, Signed lower left

For over 25 years now the artworks of Philippine artists have been collected by the owner of this collection. During the last years new Contemporaries came up with incredible artworks. The collector has been in the heart of the German-Filipino social, culture and art scene for a quarter of century, promoting the Philippines. The cultural journey led to the publication of the book REVISITING MABINI ART, launched in 2013 at the National Commission for the Culture and the Arts (NCCA) in Intramuros, Manila.

More about the artwork stating the artist Luke Joshua Estrana himself:

As an artist I want to express my love for art to my surroundings by giving an insight of my works. While many people have to stay at home due to the lockdown and enjoy the comfort at their place, the Nature is also at a kind of comfort. Due to the reduction or lack of human interactions with the Nature; the Nature is healing for the sake of itself and of course as well for the Humans, who benefits from it as well. People often do not recognize the work the Nature is doing for the planet Earth. Me as an artist feel it is part of my mission to inform the viewer how Nature makes our lives so much safer and easier and why it is so important for the humans.
